Windosill: Holy ish, you have to get this

Windosill is an online game that will break your shit wide open. This is such an amazing game. You can play it on any computer and the first few levels are free, or for $3 you can finish it, WHICH I RECOMMEND. It's sort of like a bunch of puzzles, but it's the kind of game that rewards you for wandering around, playing with every fun thing you see. It's really simple and yet so clever. Try the first few levels for free and call me at 3 in the morning when you finish it because you couldn't stop. Start playing immediately here. 

The Best Movie You'll Never See

This is awesome. Someone finally did it. A lot of people said they would do it, but this guy actually did it. Nicholas Gurewitch, creator of The Perry Bible Fellowship, a clever online comic, made this real soundtrack to an imaginary Wes Anderson movie. It's perfect, and totally enjoyable to listen to. Here you can stream the whole thang.

If this were Teen Vogue, the title of this post would be "Catch a Wave"

Amazing Japanese photographer and monk, Syoin Kajii, resides in a small seaside town and takes pictures of intricately beautiful and crushing waves. These get me lost in the best way.

He wrote a book, called Nami (wave). Just look at that cover alone! More info here.

They're finally here, or should I say back. Cap Sacs (which reminds me of Achewood's Chat Sacks), a resurrected 80's brand, is here just in time for acting a fool all summer!

Gabriela Fridriksdottir

Icelandic artist Gabriela Fridriksdottir is creepy and great and weirdly futuristic. Here is an excerpt about her work:

"The drawings, sculptures, music experiments, and videos...create a microcosm with surreal qualities, which is peopled by hybrid and sexually charged creatures who can be read as metaphors for melancholy and excess."

Tiny Hats are a Big Deal

I love this tiny straw boater hat from Chapeau Claudette. It's tiny! It's not a regular size! It alters your perspective! Just try wearing this hat and drinking out of that little cup and tell me that doesn't freak you out.

Insane Hats!

British label Tour De Force has amazing hats! I love this stuff. I've always wanted to have a fashion shoot with models looking like they're about to sneeze, and they do that too! My favorite is the "Shooting Star", but it's hard to wear stuff like that on the subway and not feel like a real jerk. Then again you could make someone's day.

That's what I'm talkin' about!

I discovered this kids brand, Wovenplay, yesterday while shopping in the West Village. Um, amazing. The one that really drew me in was the canvas cape with lions painted on it. So weird and amazing! I love that they are costumes for daily life, something I like to implement as much as possible. Why can't we all be space cowboys and bums and giraffes and pirates any given Tuesday? We can, people, we can.

Canadians Can Too

Jillian Tamaki is a totally amazing illustrator from Canada. Having recently entered the comics realm of nerddome (I was christened when I paid money to go to the MoCCA Expo), I am really impressed with her illustrations. They are unique and beautiful. More here...enjoy!

I went to the MoMA the other day to see the Olafur Eliasson exhibit. Fantastic! It was really fun to see something where you could interact with and touch and run through the pieces. One of the rooms was all black with a stream of rain going down the middle and strobe lights flashing. 

There was also an excellent Salvador Dali show about his life in film. Did you know that Dali did a short animated film with Disney (called Destino)? I was totally surprised because Disney is basically evil, but maybe Dali knew something we didn't...

Just Too Much

I have an incredible weakness for adorable old men and this guy was just too much. Also I love all the cool bright sneakers I've seen old people wearing lately. I recently saw a very tiny slow movin' oldster with like size 4 red and blue vinyl Nike Dunks on. You do it, old guys! You just go on and do it!

Christmas Everyday

I saw a woman on the subway carrying this Christmas bag in June. At first I thought it was funny, but then I thought why not? Christmas has basically become as branded as Nike or Superman, so why not wear it all year round.
